Admission Process and Requirements

At Sondervick International School we welcome international students between the ages of 11 and 17, with one of the parents having an international background and the intention to reside temporarily in the Netherlands.

MYP1: age 11 – 12,5 (starting in school year ’26-’27*)
MYP2: age 12 – 13,5
MYP3: age 13 – 14,5
MYP4: age 14 – 15,5
MYP5: age 15 – 16,5 (starting in school year ’26-’27)

Unfortunately, MYP3 is full. You can register for the waiting list. To do so, please send an email to: internationalschool@sondervick.nl

* To officially launch this class, we need a minimum of 12 students to complete the admissions screening. We already have 9 children ready to begin!

Your proficiency in the English language should meet at least level A2 according to ERK criteria.
Your entry level is vmbo gt, havo or vwo.
Your proficiency in the Dutch language should be at least at level A1 according to CEFR criteria. (only for enrollment in classes 3 and 4)

Submit admission email
Send an email to internationalschool@sondervick.nl
Include the following information in the email:
- The child’s full name and date of birth*
- Current residence and planned arrival date in the Netherlands
- A short motivation or background information
- To what extent the child is sufficient in Dutch and English
  
  For English: minimum A2 level required
  
  For Dutch: minimum A1 level required (only for enrollment in classes 3 and 4)
*Must be between 11,5 and 17 years old

Our communications officer will review your email to determine if your child meets the criteria to proceed with the admissions process.

Screening procedure
To ensure we provide the best possible educational experience, a screening will be conducted to assess your child’s proficiency in both English and Dutch. This will help determine their current language levels in each language. In addition, we will also evaluate your child’s cognitive abilities to ensure the school aligns well with their learning needs and potential. The goal of this screening is to place each child in the environment where they can thrive and develop to the fullest.

Required cognitive level: vmbo-gt, havo or vwo.

Review of the screening
Our admissions team will review the results of the screening tests and provide you with decision regarding your child’s enrollment at our school.

We will always provide guidance on the available options for your child, even if the screening indicates that they do not meet our criteria.

Decision to enroll
If your child receives a positive decision, you can choose to enroll them at our school. If you decide to move forward, we will send you a link to complete the admission form.

Currently, our school offers the Middle Years Programme (MYP) from MYP 2 to MYP 3. Starting next school year, we will also introduce an MYP 4 class. For who? Any student* aged 11,5 to 17 can study the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). *see admission proces for admission criteria	For who? The CP is designed for students interested in pursuing a career-related education in the final two years of secondary school.	For who? Students who want to transfer to HBO or University and who have completed the MYP programme.
What does it offer? A broad foundation in various subjects ( languages, sciences, etc.) Development of academic and personal skills	What does it offer?
